Kc Das Grandsons
Renessus of bengali art ,literature and culture touched the sector of food too during mid 18th century which gave birth to the world famous sweetmeat of bengal….the Rasogolla and the artist behind this was Shri Nabin Chandra Das aka Nabin Moyra who during 1868 for the first time boiled cottage cheese balls in sugar syrup giving rise to a heavenly spongy sweet for bengali palate.K.C Das,the son of Nabin Moyra for the first time canned Rasogollas and exporting and explosive growth of the buisness was the credit of Sarada Charan Das ,the son of K.C.Das who turned a lil sweet shop of bagbazar to a brand K.C Das & Grandsons.
Presently there are a no of outlets in kolkata. as a north kolkatan most reachable to us was the esplanade outlet.this one is just opposite to the tipu sultan masjid and near to Metro cinema. The best part of its location. It is just a few feets walk from esplanade metro station, opposite to tram depot and esplanade bus terminus.
Besides Rasogolla and Rajbhog KC Das serves a wide range of sweets like sondesh, jolbhora, talsansh, ladycany, rasomalai, malpua and so on.for a variation to the tastebuds they r also serving snacs like singhara, chop, peas kachouri, radhaballavi etc.most striking feature is the variation of dahis .mishti doi, kesar doi,aam doi etc
The day we visited the outlet we became satisfied wid Rajbhog, jolbhora, kesar doi n peas kachouri.and most imp is in reasonable rate.a beautiful ambience created by the walpaper ,rer sofa ,yellow light n oil paintings was giving us a warm welcome
After u satisfy ur tummy there is always an option to carry rasogollas for ur beloved ones either in can or in matkis. an for people without a sweet tooth always have a choice with delicious chanachur
